Engineered from the ground up to conceal and protect the base portion of a post, the BearPaw™ integrates smoothly between the supporting surface and the post itself, to form a streamlined shield against adverse conditions. The attractive styling gives pillars a distinct finished look of a labour intensive custom fit - without the cost.

More than cosmetic, the BearPaw™ enclosure protects against water damage to posts and pillars by forming a barrier that prevents water from being absorbed into posts from the supporting surface and also allows evaporation of any water that penetrates the structure.

The modular hardware allows the BearPaw™ system to be assembled quickly and easily - no special tools required. The groundwork of the BearPaw™ is a resilient acrylic-impregnated pad that conforms to uneven surfaces while providing backpressure to accommodate incremental height adjustments. Interlocking layers are stacked on top until a complete fitted seal is created.

The BearPaw™ surpasses functionality and adds elegant, contemporary style to any log or timber frame construction project.

Construction requirements

Wood Standoffs shall be separated from the supporting surface by an acceptable damp-proofing material. Note: The BearPaw™ is for non-structural applications only. It is not a load-bearing device.
